The Hill Tribes of Northern Thailand provided a great source of inspiration. There are six main groups each with their own language, heritage, culture, clothing and religion but pressure on the land is drawing them into theThai market economy and they are very dependent on the tourists for their income. They produce beautiful woven and embroidered textiles of a very high quality and are willing to share their expertise. From silk and silver to teak and textiles the Golden Triangle is a treasure chest for all craftswoman.

Elephants figure prominently in their lives and this led to "Odd One Out" which features some of the traditional cross stitch designs.
