People have always been a source of fascination for me both for their skills as craftsmen and women and the enthusiasm with which they go about their daily lives.
A group of women at the Suleymaniye Tomb in Turkey and the craftswomen working at a Woman's College in Abu Dhabi making braids and weaving were pleased to share their knowledge.
I have been very priviledged to be allowed to share in some of their activities and my design "Woman in Black" came as a response to a photograph I took in Delhi of a woman hurrying past a mosque which was covered in ornate geometric tile designs. I charted and stitched the design in black and then again in colour on 28 count evenweave.
